Pedders History
Pedders was founded because early form shock absorbers couldn’t deal with harsh Australian conditions. Roy Pedder, who was an aircraft welder in WW2 started Pedders in the 1950’s where he used his skills as a welder to repair and fix broken equipment. This slowly honed into the automotive niche and eventually focused solely on suspension repair.
Roy and his team became well known Australia wide for their ability to repair and improve factory suspension systems to perform in Australian conditions. They were repairing 3000 shocks a month back in the 70s.
Since then Roy has passed the reins of the business to his son Ron who in turn passed it on to his sons Mark & Scott. Over the 70 years, Pedders has gone from fixing shock absorbers to creating their own line of not only shocks but full suspension systems. They have also gone from a small team to over 500 Australian staff and many more internationally.
Now Pedders focus on producing top quality, Australian designed and manufactured suspension components for 4WDs, performance cars and manufacturers.
